GiftKit is a gift card and store credit app for OpoShop stores, published by Found. These terms cover a merchant's use of GiftKit. By installing or using GiftKit you agree to them.

What GiftKit does

GiftKit lets a store sell gift cards, send them by email, let customers use them at checkout, and give customers store credit. It runs inside your OpoShop admin and on your storefront.

Your store, your gift cards

• Gift cards and store credit issued through GiftKit are issued by your store, not by Found. You are responsible for honoring them and for following the gift card, consumer and tax rules that apply where you sell.
• You decide the values you sell, whether cards expire, and who receives store credit.
• Money for a gift card sale is collected by your store through OpoShop's checkout. GiftKit never holds or moves your money.

How balances are applied

• A gift card or store credit is applied to an order as a discount on the items in that order. It does not cover shipping or tax.
• A gift card or store credit cannot be used together with another discount code on the same order. A balance can be spent across several orders. GiftKit has no way to pay a balance out as cash.
• When a shopper applies a gift card or store credit at checkout, the amount is held from the balance at that moment. If they do not finish that order, the amount does not go back on its own. After a day the Gift cards page lists it with a Return button. Returning it takes the discount off the unpaid order first, then puts the amount back on the balance. A shopper who still has that checkout open in a browser can pay the old discounted price afterwards, and GiftKit tells you on the Gift cards page if that order is paid. The customer's balance page shows that an amount is held.
• GiftKit never refunds money. You refund or cancel an order in OpoShop. When a gift card order is cancelled in OpoShop, GiftKit voids its card if nothing has been spent from it. If part of it has been spent, GiftKit does not change the card and tells you on the Gift cards page so you can decide. A refund you give without cancelling the order is not something GiftKit can see, so turn that card off yourself.
• A gift card bought on your store is worth what was paid for it. If a discount code lowered the price of the gift card, the card is issued for the lower amount.
• If a customer loses a code, you can send it again or copy it from GiftKit. Customers cannot recover a code on their own.
• A gift card bought on your store is emailed to its recipient once a card payment shows on the order, usually within a couple of minutes. An order paid another way, such as PayPal, is listed on the Gift cards page for you to check and send. A gift card whose order is never paid is not emailed and is voided. If an email cannot be sent, for example because email sending is not set up for your store in OpoShop, the Gift cards page lists the card with a button to send it. Gift cards bought before October 12, 2026 that were never emailed are listed there for you to send, and are not sent on their own.
• GiftKit keeps a record of every issue, use and adjustment for each card and each customer's credit.

Cost

GiftKit is free to install and takes no fee out of a gift card's value.

Acceptable use

• Do not use GiftKit for anything unlawful, or to issue value you do not intend to honor.
• Do not try to access another store's data or interfere with the service.

Availability and changes

We work to keep GiftKit running and correct, but it is provided as is, without a guarantee that it will be free of interruptions or errors. We may change or improve the app over time. If something is not working, write to us and we will look into it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Found is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of GiftKit. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Ending use

You can uninstall GiftKit at any time from your OpoShop admin. Your cards, credit and settings are kept so that balances your customers hold are not lost, and are restored if you reinstall. You can ask us to delete your store's data.
